Happy Birthday, America!

Well, we just arrived home from Park City, UT where we celebrated the 4th of July at our Un-Family Reunion. I'm still not sure how this un-reunion differed from our regular reunions that we have every other year...the people were the same, the activities were the same....and the chaos was definitely the same! There were 12 adults and 14 children between 6 mos. and 7 years old staying in 2 condos about 10 miles apart. We even had my Grandma Marie there for a few days! There was swimming, eating, art projects, eating, nature walks, eating, parade watching, eating, making cookies, eating, more swimming and fireworks watching with our traditional root beer floats. I think everyone had a great time. We did miss the 4 family members that couldn't be there this year, but they will be with us for sure next time. Here are some of my favorite pictures of our fun-filled week... (it was really hard to narrow it down.)

"sassy pants", "sister tsu" and "little dude" having fun

We managed to get the cousins to settle down for a minute for a group shot...or maybe it was just half a minute!

The kids loved swimming this trip. It was our first time swimming since last fall and it was "little dude's" first time swimming...ever! It took a good 30 minutes the first day for the them to get used to the water. But after that, it was difficult to get them out of the pool!

Even "big daddy" had fun in the water!

We sat on the lawn at the Park City Mountain Resort to watch the fireworks. I was usually taking the pictures, but I managed to hand the camera off for a few moments to get a family shot.

My camera has a "Fireworks" setting so I decided to try it out. I don't think the pictures turned out half bad...even with "sister tsu" kicking my arm the entire time!

Well, this weekend was all about fun, food, family and freedom. It was great to be together to celebrate it all, especially the freedom that we enjoy living in this amazing country!
